Picture Poetry

These poems were written based on pictures. I have not included the original picture links with the words. Most can stand on their own without them. To see the pictures, go to Photographic Inspiration.

Fairgrounds

I slink into the shadows
of the "no parking" zone
to escape the medley
of people that parade
the fairgrounds.

From my vantage point,
under the loading dock,
I watch dozens of legs
and feet pass by in clouds
of fabric and flesh.

I spy my mother's guaze
atop pale legs, bare toes.
They turn a complete circle
as if in search of something...
she won't find me.
